Through a spectrum of therapies, our intention is to support your vision of an authentic healing process. Each treatment session is unique, unfolding naturally around your needs and what you present as significant. Many elements may come into play in a session. We invite your body, mind, heart, emotion and spirit into the healing process. We also welcome your attention, intuition, and body awareness as important aspects of treatment. The practitioner offers a grounded, neutral presence—listening to your tissues and responding with carefully selected healing modalities, blending them into a “whole person” therapy.
We follow the guidance of your innate body wisdom and together join forces in co-creative healing therapy.
Our bodies are hard-wired to seek homeostasis–balance, equilibrium and healthy physiological function. With this in mind, we look to feed the natural healing cycle that occurs in therapy. As imperfect human beings, we tend to identify with the “vicious cycle”–patterns of dysfunction that feed upon themselves and cause negative effects on our health and happiness. Indeed, these patterns can be deep-seated, holding the root cause of our pain and suffering. While they certainly need to be addressed in therapy, we also emphasize following the body’s natural predilection toward homeostasis.
With intention, we feed the “healing cycle”–where patterns are established inside us that work synergistically, feeding upon each other to create positive effects and improve our health and happiness.
This occurs naturally when our inherent healing intelligence and self-correcting mechanisms are awakened. Body, mind, heart and spirit work in synchrony to bring us toward alignment, attunement, integration and healing.
During a therapy session, we may discover feelings and emotions living in the body, beneath the conscious awareness—tissue memory of past experiences or traumas. These can be hidden inside as seeds of dysfunction. Our healing intelligence can root out these areas of dysfunction and release them or transform them to benefit the body. Your mindfulness while receiving therapy helps unearth these areas to activate their healing.
Mindfulness in this context is paying attention to what is happening in your body during the session, and listening to its messages.
As we look within ourselves, the body may speak to us through physical sensations, images, memories, emotions and intuition. We invite you to explore inside your body, maintaining present-moment awareness and pure observation, focusing your attention where it is naturally drawn. Using this resource of conscious awareness, we open the possibility to receive healing information from within. We bring body, mind, heart and spirit into the process to awaken your inherent deep healing potential.
Tissue memory of traumatic experiences can hold strong emotions of pain, fear, anger, grief etc. These feelings may need to be seen, felt, expressed, released or transformed for deep healing to occur. When working with these experiences, safety and trust are always our foundational pillars. Without safety and trust, the process cannot occur.
In this type of treatment, which can be challenging by nature, we make sure the process unfolds in a manner that is nurturing and nourishing for you.
With this understanding in place, we invoke your body wisdom—the strength and resources you possess inside. From here, we engage even the most difficult, traumatic/emotional experiences in a healing context, from a place of empowerment. Through this approach, we rely on the body’s innate healing intelligence, as it works to liberate us from debilitating imprints of past trauma.
